116 days...

Or 2784 hours or 176,040 minutes or even 10,022,400 seconds. That's how long I've been waiting and the game isn't up yet. Just thought I'd check in here... I was holding off on the hope that I'd hear from the Agency this week but alas, nothing. Rob left for Florida yesterday to join the Disney Dream and apparently a couple of people waiting for F&B have got dates for July/August. But that's all I've heard. Sad face.

So, how have I been spending those 10 million seconds anyway? Well apart from the aforementioned part time job (where, by the way, I mentioned to them I'd be leaving at some point and it actually went down perfectly fine to my relief)... I've been trying to keep myself busy. Mostly this consists of watching TV and DVDs really but I have taken up running. Now I am a very un-energetic, non-outdoorsy type girl who detested P.E. at school and got told in one school report to "reconsider her lifestyle".... so to take up running is nothing short of a miracle.

I've been mostly doing 3 mile stints, slowly getting my time per mile down from over 15 minutes to start with to about 12.20 at my quickest. Today I actually went out and did slightly more than that - about 3.6 miles and even managed to get a 12.50 time which was awesome... I need to try and work on running further distances because Tyler and I are hoping that our DCL contracts will tie in with being able to enter one of the Disney running events which would be amazing. Unfortunately, for now, I have to just imagine running through the theme parks and the Florida heat on my back....

Upside Down

Well, not much has happened with me over the past week... I've spent every day hoping for THE call and I haven't had it yet.

For Rob, however, the drama continues! A few days ago Disney contact him and tell him that they're changing his ship - from the Magic in Europe to the Dream in Florida! Talk about turning everything upside down... he's still flying out at roughly the same time and he's still Merchandise but obviously his location and itinerary has completely changed and his contract will be 5 months instead of 6 for some unknown reason. I expected to be contacted and told I was replacing him in Europe but as yet, I haven't heard anything so who knows what's going on!

Anyway, this was just a quick check in as I don't really have too much else to talk about. Disney have released details on the updates happening to the Disney Magic when it goes into Dry Dock in September and it's really exciting! They're getting a new death slide-style water slide, new restaurants, revamped staterooms... basically the only thing that doesn't seem to be changing much is the shops (ironically). I also discovered the Disney Cruise Line exclusive merchandise on the disneystore.com website.... uh-oh!

Watching paint dry...

We're into May and there was a glimmer of hope earlier this week because Rob got contacted and got his date! Congratulations Rob! It was a bit of a curveball because he is actually flying straight out to Barcelona to join the Disney Magic during it's Europe itinerary bypassing Orlando completely - so all his PST and Traditions stuff will be in Spain too! His date is May 29th... which is only three weeks away. So I've hoped since Tuesday when all this happened that I will get a call too but unfortunately it looks like not this week as it's now Friday afternoon and I'm sure The Agency staff have gone home for the weekend now.

Here's a picture of Rob and I just to amuse you... and make this blog more interesting.

Caption Competition: "When Rob found out he'd need to
communicate he can't swim... in SPANISH..." LOL.

So... we wait. In other news, I did get the part time job which I started this week so that's provided some distraction. It's just working in a cafe and I only have to give a weeks' notice so that's good. They've already given me more hours than my contract next week so at least I can earn some money to get back in the green on my bank account...!

These last few weeks have been so tough with battling PDD (Post Disney Depression... it's real you know...), waiting out on DCL every day plus a few personal issues. But I'm getting there slowly but surely and just waiting for that call which will change everything (at least for a few months!)...
